If one could upload their entire mind into a computer system to make a computer brain: Would our flesh brain get jealous that the computer brain copy gets to live on long after it [the flesh brain] is gone? Would the flesh brain wave away the issue with some logic like, "It doesn't matter, I'll be gone" or "Well it's me anyway, so what does it matter"?

I think the flesh brain will be gone, but if the computer brain is the same, for me, I'd think gtfo, if it works like my further brain, why not. I'd rather be afraid to live forever in cyberspace. Think about that... it's complicated, as a human beeing with flesh and bones, i would not want to live forever, i am 40 now and my body is aching all the time, but as a digital lifeform, it could be better, dunno... · 2 years ago
You would enjoy the game SOMA, it explores that exact subject. Once you make a copy of your conciousness it becomes a completely new independent being from the original. The flesh brain would continue on its existance to death without ever realizing the possible ramifcations. That a digital copy could be downloaded into a robit body courtesy of a neurotic half-sentient AI hundereds of years after the annihilation of humanity via metor. · 2 years ago
