https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89Nd1ZOUm_4 A little guitar thing I recorded. On a sidenote, it seems if you post more than one thing within some short time period, the second one won't show on the main page. Must've been a spam reduction tactic.

@whixr i also hadn't set up the compressor properly so it kinda reacted poorly, i think. hm. 路 3 months ago
@five_over_four So the audio bitrate is set pretty low on OBS?
I record 192KHz 24bit, master it, then sync it to video in editing at which point it drops to what ever the container audio / video stream service re-encoding sends out.
I feel your pain re: single coils. I can't use my Danelectro U1 or a Dean Markley Pro Mag in my studio due to mains power hum. Well if I rotate to a perfect position and do not move I can but ... not being able to move is too distracting :)
I'm setting up a 100 year old parlor guitar with a rubber bridge, flat wounds, and a hotrail pickup at the moment. Those are humbucking so hopefully no issues! 路 3 months ago
@whixr yeah It has some pops because I got lazy with the recording. See normally I'd record via the VST, but it takes extra steps of mixing the audio and video, so I just directly recorded via OBS. It's especially more convenient if you have multiple tracks at once.
Can't help any hiss though, the single coils will pick up any and all electric interference in the room, which is why I'm sitting as far from the computer as I could. 路 3 months ago
@five_over_four Nice. I'd enjoy a closer listen, that audio capture is tragically rough though. What chain/workflow are you using? 路 3 months ago
