Windows 11 is the most unpleasant operating system I鈥檝e ever used. I tried to pipe output from a file into notepad, and it didn鈥檛 work until I told notepad to open the specific file. Maybe I鈥檓 misunderstanding how windows works, but | is not the same as & or ; damnit

Ok, so I learned a little more about powershell: apparently everything is an object, not a text stream. I still prefer my text mangler utilities 馃槀 路 2 months ago

I've only ever used Tiny11 which was quite alright. Atlas OS and ReviOS also look promising. Never saw the "original" 11 as my windows box happily jugs along with a decrapified win 10 ... for now. But I gotta say Tiny 11 was quite alright. 路 2 months ago

Just for clarification, I do mean WSL2 (Windows Sub-System for Linux). 路 2 months ago

I'd say don't even bother with powershell or cmd.exe and opt for getting debian going over the windows terminal, 'cause the fact is -- you can interact with your windows RIGHT from that debian terminal *DIRECTLY* and without any awful mess that is the powershell command scheme.

Debian terminal will serve you well. 路 2 months ago

I switched to Linux when Windows 10 started to roll around, and hearing all of the issues people are having with 10 and now 11, it sounds like I dodged a bullet. 路 2 months ago

Do any of default Windows GUI applications (not those ported from *NIX systems) even support piping text into them? 馃 路 2 months ago
