I am letting my 2325 day Duolingo streak die. Duolingo quickly turned out to be not that educational to me. I just kept on the streak because it's the sort of thing my brain keeps forcing me to do. But at this point, the amount of streak freezes that I use is just rediculous and the whole thing is entirely pointless. Not to mention the fact that Duolingo has become complete enshittified as Cory Doctorow would put it.

Congrats for that streak! I find hard to follow streaks. But as a designer I understand how emotional they get to feel enganged and connected to a cause.

Currently I have more like a 'weekly streak' of doing exercise or learning X times a week, but doing it EVERY day is tiresome for me.

BTW, I'm not using Duolingo anymore, and switched to Memrise, Pimsleur, Drops and DuoCards. 路 2 years ago

Impressive Streak! That鈥檚 like, what? 5 years?

Anyway, yeah, Duolingo has really gone down the shitter in recent years. I stopped using it recently for the same reason. 路 2 years ago

impressive streak though! i always found duolingo doesn't help me. i need to learn the grammar of a language before filling in more vocabulary and duolingo is just not like that 路 2 years ago

Maybe it's just my brain but I never found it all that helpful. The only use I got out of it was exposing myself to new vocab and there are probably better tools for that. 路 2 years ago

I started using it before the whole social thing and it was much better. Now people are just competing and I don't think they learn as much. It's sad how everything has to be social and gamified now. 路 2 years ago
