Last night I managed to fix my laptop. It's the first successful repair I've ever done in which I knew what I was doing. The screen works again, and I also managed to figure out what was wrong with the USB ports (just another loose cable).

The whole 14-year-old notebook is now fully functional and ready to accept an OS. I think I'll go for either Rhino Linux, openmamba GNU/Linux, or siduction with Qtile.

Very cool! Nice work and good luck with future repairs. A whole lot of stuff can be fixed just by wiggling a cable or two. ยท 1 year ago
