my better half and me are looking for ways to reconnect with nature and spent more time outdoors. one idea we had was to move to the woods and out of suburbia. to see what is possible we spontaneously looked at two undeveloped properties in the nearby mountains and let our imagination loose on how we would develop it to cater our needs. we quickly had more ideas than would fit on 5 acres without cutting down too many trees. that was an interesting exercise. we can neither afford that much land at this time, nor do we think we should need a lot that big. wanting less is a never ending journey. a simple, fulfilling life the constant reward. once again i learned: life is simple, not necessarily easy

Truth. Also, more land means more work. Very easy to bite off more than you can chew, assuming it's just you two and assuming you don't have prior experience working the land. ยท 2 years ago
