living with less is simple, but not easy. take minimalism as an example. there is a form of minimalism in which people own few, but expensive things. their homes look aesthetically empty, almost sterile, but the things that are there scream “i have money”. to me, this isn’t minimalism. just a different form of consumerism. may they be happy.

@bavarianbarbarian you are living the dream i think. may many moons pass, and many herbs get attended to, before asgard calls · 2 years ago
After i got divorced, i switched to minimal living. I own literally nothing, few clothes, 2 notebooks, a bug out backpack and outdoor stuff, a sword to go to Valhalla when i die xD some books and vintage hardware i collect, but nothing really expensive. Once i had a job making 120k a year, but did it make me happy? Nope, sitting in the garden, farming herbs and cuddling with my cat, best in life... · 2 years ago
that latter example sounds like shrewd materialism lol · 2 years ago
