The more time goes on the more I realize gemini is right. The web was a mistake.

I think JavaScript has its place, and can be used to do pretty cool stuff. Neocities sites use JavaScript that way, and it really enhances the experience!

I think the problem is with backend code like php, and the ability for cookies to be stored on browsers and collect data. 路 3 years ago

JavaScript certainly was a mistake. Other mistakes gemini learns from. So most of the mistakes (except JavaScript) were not in vain. 路 3 years ago

What is most important is that we learn from past mistakes so that we can either improve or not repeat them. 路 3 years ago

The web became more utilitarian and corperatized than it really ever should have been. now in the web you need to spend a long amount of time to learn html+css to get a decent looking site or hire a service to do it for you. Even if you do that then its nearly inacsessable from search engines unless you do some good branding and get the word out. The real heart and spirit of the internet is in expressing a bit of a persons self and creative potential through writing and software. discovering others through their little handmade sites has becomea real chore on the web which gemini really gets right to a decent extent. 路 3 years ago

the more you think about it, the more you come to the conclusion that this can only be detected in retrospective 馃悜 mistake or not, you can't improve without mistakes. problem is when you keep riding a dead horse 路 3 years ago

I agree with the sentiment. Not sure it was totally a mistake, but the unbridled optimism about its potential surely was. The web is now an appliance to me, maybe useful for some things but definitely not exciting. 路 3 years ago
