hey all! been continuing my Linux terminal journey, and now I'm able to use Mastodon with a program called toot! combined it with an image viewer program called 'feh' and honestly? I love browsing Mastodon this way. at this rate I'm gonna barely use Firefox lol

yeah! so go install feh (I used sudo apt install for it - it's an older version, but it works), create a text file and copy paste [commands.tui] in one line, and media_viewer = "feh" underneath that, save it as settings.toml and put it in your toot folder, which should be in config! · 8 months ago

TUI Fediverse experience is different, but I like it too — you get less distracted with images when scrolling through the timeline.
I'm using tut myself — it's very much like tut, but written in Go. Right now the project looks abandoned, but as there were no breaking changes to the API, it still works great. Check that one out too! · 8 months ago
