So I’ve been using Librewolf, a Firefox fork that removes any telemetry and deletes all cookies, for a good while now. Long enough to confidently say that when a website says it needs to use “essential” cookies to run the site properly, it’s an outright lie. I’ve yet to have a site not work for me.

@smokey Yep, have that I Don’t Care About Cookies add-on installed, but it doesn’t stop the messages appearing on iOS or Android. 😅 · 2 years ago
Theres an addon called "I dont care about cookies" which blocks those messages from most websites. Librewolf is a good out of the box browser, its essentially firefox with all the telemetry stripped out and shipped with ublock origin. I use firefox hardened with the arkenfox user profile which achieves the same results.
You can find it here https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js/releases I recommend you install these addons to get the most privacy and anti-tracking possible.
LocalCDN, User-Agent Switcher & Manager (set to a popular string like win10 chrome), Privacy Redirect, and Canvas Fingerprint Defender.
Finally, test your browser with https://firstpartysimulator.org/

@reidrac Yeah, thought of that after I posted this. I guess I’m so used to manually logging in everywhere that I never stopped to think about that. · 2 years ago
we (the media company i work for) now have more than 8kb cookies because of our ad-partners... so some webservers that are below our main domain just reply a 400 ;) cookies/advertisers are cancer these days... x.x · 2 years ago
how resource intensive is this magical thing? · 2 years ago
