Things are finally back to normal for us. We had no internet for a week due to a power cut basically destroying our router, and then Ubuntu suddenly had a problem with my Nvidia GPU, making me completely reinstall the OS (Someone once told me the Nvidia drivers on Ubuntu were good. They lied).

But here we are, finally, with internet, and a working OS that isn’t Windows 😮‍💨

your card is pretty new... the problem was elsewhere... 🤷‍♂️ · 3 years ago

@gnuserland Well, I have an RTX 2080. Is that considered legacy? What drivers should I use for that? · 3 years ago

👽 gnuserland

About Nvidia it may depend by the fact your model became legacy therefore you have to use the legacy binary driver for your card, unless your are using the nouveau driver... 🤷‍♂️ · 3 years ago

@smokey I’m using Ubuntu with Cinnamon installed. Been using Linux for years, but this is my first PC build with an Nvidia GPU. Will likely not go with them again… · 3 years ago

Congradulations and welcome back! Are you using stock Ubuntu or some downstream distro like linux mint? Also are you new to the linux scene in general? · 3 years ago
