Reading the story of Ponte and looking at your photos reminded me of the movie High Rise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Rise_(film)
The visuals: the architecture, interior design — look stunningly similar! Maybe just a coincidence, but the book this movie is based on was written in the 70s.
