Everyone I know is in agreement that childeren must have very limited screen time. I would go just a little further and ask: shouldn't we all have very limited screen time? (The keen eyed among you will see through my feeble attempt to start a discussion about what I think is really wrong with the modern internet.....)

Can't agree more tm85. I couldn't figure out how to keep the utility of the internet but at the same time limit it from wasting my time. Then I discovered the fediverse, small web and Gemini. I don't know what is the best way forward but I have a feeling I'm on the right track! 路 1 year ago
Modern technology is too useful to forbid entirely, and we should encourage our youth to learn how to skillfully use it. Kids of 10 years today have no idea what a directory is and can't use Control Panel. I think it makes more sense to limit internet access more strictly 路 1 year ago
I've been doing this a bit this week. no phone at work and it goes by my bed in the evening. I don't check Gemini as much but it's been nice not checking my phone every 5 minutes. 路 1 year ago
