hey folks, hope you all doing well. i have a veeeery strange problem with my gaming PC and i can not figure out wtf is happening. started with the monitor having contrast problems. then it continued, monitor hat just about 1-2% lightening. me just, wtf? ok, as an old guy in IT, i started going down to the nitty gritty... tested monitor on my laptop, works like a charm. took an old display for the PC, works without problems. every software is up to date, color profiles reset etc... I am doing this computer stuff for my whole life, but this makes no sense at all... you have any ideas?

@userfxnet on my gaming box windows, monitor works fine when connected to my linux laptop. hardware is ok cos another old monitor is doing well. i have no clue what is going on. @yamato happens when i boot into the OS, startup logo appears, then dark, even when booted external OS from usb stick @chirale to be honest, i have no idea, disconnected everthing, switched cables from hdmi to DP and everthing. suddenly that goddamn thing stopped working. dunno, but a goot reason to get a new 21:1 38" new monitor xD ยท 4 months ago

Does this monitor happen to have a USB port / hub? If it has a USB port you can update the firmware. I found that one of my monitors (Lenovo) had a visual issue fixed with the firmware update. Another monitor I have seen (HP) has an usb-c issue that can be fixed with a firmware update. ยท 4 months ago

what OS are you using on the PC? Sounds like configuration between your display and the system you're using it has to be software if you tested the hardware on your monitor and even double checked your drivers all good. ยท 4 months ago
