This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the
beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying
for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and
you call us criminals. We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek
after knowledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color,
without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals.
You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us
and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals.

@istvan jep, there is a misunderstanding i think.. 1984 was intended as a novel and not an instruction manual... what a brave new world.... · 3 months ago
@istvan yes it is, an incredible disappointment. that's not anymore the reason for i wanted to become a sysadmin. i believe in the freedom of speech, free software (i wrote some software, but that's another story), but today... what do we have? AI aided face recognitiion, tracking on your phone and shit.... freedom of information? just a joke... i'll go watering my plants now ;) · 3 months ago
well, short story, when i was young and that's loooong ago.. i kinda hoped that the (inter)net would lead humans to a better life.. i introduced IDN domains to a major german ISP.. i tried almost every OS and hardware from c64 to HP superdomes ans IBM mainframes...i felt like Neo looking for the matrix... and now in the end.. i am sitting here with a cat and a lot of flowers, givin a fsck off to tiktok, X, utube and alle the others... just leave me alone... in germany we have a saying 'die revolution frisst ihre kinder' may translate to 'the revolution is eating their childs'. that's not the spirit anymore.. :( · 3 months ago
“Hackers” vibes. Need to watch that movie again. · 3 months ago
Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is
that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like.
My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me
for.
I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual,
but you can't stop us all... after all, we're all alike. · 3 months ago
