Oh my god this is a great post.

My feeling? In a highly testable environment, like computer programming where it is immediately apparent if the result is correct or not, having a Julius around can be educational, because correcting errors is learning.

hey, thanks for posting this; It was a great read. Whether or not Julius actually exists or is a metaphor for generative language models, I agree having a Julius around could be more helpful than harmful in the right environments. but god does he sound annoying xD 路 3 weeks ago
But having a Julius or Julii around might help you figure out your limits for frustration, or show you just which benzos you need and how many of them you need to get through life without breaking. Loved this satire anyway. 路 3 weeks ago
@alcatraz I'd argue that in computer programming, and perhaps especially computer programming, it isn't immediately apparent whether a result is correct. Anyone who has earned bread doing server admin dreads the 2 AM phone call or pagerduty alert; sometimes even the most well-written code fails when confronted by the enemy. Highly testable is arguable too, because I'd argue that writing testable code is itself a bit of an art form. 路 3 weeks ago
Great writing, kudos to the author. I had a specific person in mind during the whole article, heh, but I didn't anticipate that connection to our current times. I'm not sure I completely agree, but interesting stuff nonetheless, and lovely written. 路 3 weeks ago
