I came across this map on TikTok today:

It came without a title, so it took a few seconds for me to actually look at the map and understand what I was looking at. Unconventional forms of representation like this serve to make you pay attention to what is actually represented. In this case, it really made it clear to me how interconnected the mediterranean is (and was historically).
