Giving up on FreeBSD again

I'd decided to get FreeBSD running again on laptop (an old Lenovo X220 - fabulous keyboard!) and use it as my daily driver for personal stuff. Alas, a few weeks in I've switched back to Linux. Not because of the OS itself, that's great and my NAS will continue to run with it. Not because of the desktop apps; I've got everything I need there.

It's suspend and resume.

It almost worked. About 75% of the time it did. But I could never be sure that I hadn't been dumped back to the console and lose my desktop. I couldn't even restart the desktop without it throwing errors and remaining in the console. Normally I'd have some kind of idea where to go to fix that or be able to Google an answer but not this time.

So I'm now on EndeavourOS. It's pretty nice, and admittedly it didn't suspend out of the box (although it did on another Lenovo laptop, go figure) but I pretty quickly found out why not and now it's rock solid.
