Finally, a break from the smoke. The conditions tonight were excellent, almost no turbulence seen while observing the moon.

Palus Epidemiarum is the area to the south of the three larger craters near the center of the sketch (I think). It had a very noticable deep shadowed crater in near the center of it which stood out prominently while observing. The crater to the east of it is Capuanus (not on my target list).

Hippalus is the shallow crater (labeled "remains of a crater" in my moon map) north-west most in the sketch. It was not a very prominent feature while observing, however it was interesting. The shape of the crater was noticable, and it seemed to be bordered by four shallow craters that formed around the rim in all four cardinal directions.

The terminator was the "star" (pun intended) of the night though, some of the highlights of landscape features on the dark side of the terminator were stunning. In particular were the shapes to the far south.

There were so many craters and features in the area that I could not possibly capture them all. However, I am noticing that lunar sketches seem to turn out better the longer I spend on them to add more detail.
