I have an issue where I'll save links, thoughts, and other things in notepad files because I'm scared of losing them, and then absolutely never checking on them again. But I never actually go through them again... nor do I ever delete them...
As part of my quest to clean out my digital life, I need to go through all these junk files I hoard. I thought, perhaps writing about what I find could help get diminish my fear of deleting them.
Since everything is unorganized, there'll be no theme to anything. Just as-I-go.
At some point last year I decided that perhaps my problem with my phone is its layout. This doesn't actually come from nowhere as I just... forget... things I have on my phone often if they're not fully in sight the second I turn it on. However, I found myself just trying out different launchers and fiddling with settings and then getting tired of it and going back to standard Android. Actually, I still have this problem with my phone lol.
I have Niagara Launcher noted, and I think I used it and deleted it, though I'm not sure why, as looking at it again... it seems to have what I'd want.
Every year I seem to pick up a new expensive hobby. I found a bunch of links to lolita fashion that no longer is up. I was only into that one for an extremely short period of time but it was all encompassing for a hot minute... I blame covid brain for that one. And then there's a bunch of links to travel videos as if I'd ever be able to go on them. Also covid brain.
...And then fashion dolls which I cannot blame on that, unfortunately. I'm not sure what particularly triggered it, though finding out my Ever After High dolls I had unceremoniously donated are now worth a lot didn't help. This is something I actually am still a bit into, though I sold off the ones I compulsively picked up, and now have ones I particularly like or were gifts for me on display. The recent trend of all the brands deciding quality is no longer important now that they've gotten fan hype has killed off a lot of my interest, honestly.
Though more recently I picked up an interest in custom TTRPGs... this hobby died because no one in my life is particularly interested in or wants to learn such things. Sad.
I found a struggle dish recipe I was thinking about recently but couldn't find in my notes. Of course I couldn't find it, it was in a txt file with numbers. Augh.
Anyways, here it is to share:
It's crazy how many dead links there were. Even though most of these were just 1-2 years old at max, so much gets absolutely erased from the internet with no archives. Makes you think about how much lost things there are.
There's also just... so much stuff that has absolutely no relevance to me anymore. Like did I really need to be hanging onto so many Illustrator brushes I wanted to buy when I haven't used that program in a year and have decided Adobe is the devil?
Current conclusion: I need to name my files better. 1GB of files deleted.
I ended up finding some Discord server links but then I thought... I am in waaaaayyy too many. I check a handful, ever, but am in dozens. So I decided to clean it out, and ended up leaving 10. More I could've but... I like the emojis...
A tool to connect Switch controllers to your PC. I forgot I had this downloaded, honestly.
