When I can get away with it I try and run mostly 9front servers.
When I need an actual UNIX server I tend to use a combination of FreeBSD with OpenBSD userspace tooling.
For my workstations I mostly use artix linux with the s6-init system on it.
I write mostly C, Go, and shell scripts. Go for most thing on UNIX/Linux. C for most things on plan9.
With shell scripts acting as the indispensable glue to wrap everything together.
My local servers are a couple HP proliants I scrounged from uni surplus.
I mostly use thinkpads for my laptops. My desktop is an AMD self build
for ease of using wayland.
