After 20 years I'm a tradey again

And I'm loving it. Essentially I'm an apprentice, at the ripe ol age of 39. Installation Technician for smart home systems. Been doing pre wiring on a new build this week which involves running cables in the ceilings and walls, drilling holes through timber and concrete, anchoring with velco and or wire where needed.

It's a busy site with lots of tradies working around each other. Haven't heard this much Fs and Cs in a while, but everyone is good natured.

My job 20 years ago was landscaping so we were always outside out of the way while this was happening on the house build.

Cool to see this side of things.

There is sooo much to learn. Quite technical. I'm being put through training with CEDIA who are internationally recognised. We're not quite sparkies, but work very close with them. We run a lot of CAT6A, 6-core and coax cable, with a bit of fibre to connect second hubs.

Fun. It was a good move.
