…I finally got around to ripping the CD of the Licking Valley Singers’ November concert, so that Diana has a digital backup–you know, in case the kids get a hold of it. Thankfully the task was easy; whoever compiled the disc had actually included CD-DATA, saving me the time of creating ID-3 tags. About the only work I had to do was track down a copy of the concert poster, so that I could embed some sort of album art. Within a few seconds of the music and voices beginning, I heard a young child cry. “Surely, not; that can’t be Violet,” I thought. Then came another cry–that was quickly hushed–followed by the jingling of keys, suggesting that the parent had quickly gotten up and raced out of the room with their child.Once I finished ripping and embedding tags, I threw the files up on the media server and played the first track. “Ah, finally, I can hear the concert,” I thought; I had missed the greatest majority of the show when I was in attendance–I had to remove Violet and Nivea from the sanctuary due to their behavior.
Yes, the performance I had attended with the children was the very one that had been recorded…
