It was just what the doctor ordered weather wise on Tuesday across
Central and Eastern Kentucky: a good soaking rainfall. With the
remnants of what was tropical storm Erin last week moving through
the heart of the bluegrass, most locations picked up a solid 1 to 2
inch rainfall Tuesday with several locations receiving 3 inches
plus. This should at least put a bit of a dent into the drought
situation temporarily. Unfortunately the big time heat will return
quickly with afternoon highs surging back into the mid and even
upper 90s into the mid and late week. It was be pretty
uncomfortable to be out and about during the hottest part of the
day later this week so keep that in mind. Another frontal system
will slowly move into Kentucky during the upcoming weekend
providing another shot at some much needed rain and cooling our
temperatures down a bit as well...TG
