I agree. I'm reminded of the fact that most large Fediverse instances also have pages upon pages of speech policies which in my opinion undermine the entire endeavor. I still believe in free speech, even if someone is off the deep end, they self-tag at that point and I can avoid them. Sure, things like harassment etc. aren't great but any belief or opinion expressed genuinely and respectfully shouldn't be banned.
