Interests and Complexity

As in how you approach them.

You can approach the same interest in a completely different way and that alone would say a lot about the differences between each other.

So say let's say you like music, it is your life or whatever, you want to share it to others, then you did it to another person who also claims how music is their life, and they ended up seeing them in a completely different way compared to how you do it.

That's fine and all, but for some reason the more attempts there is to share opinions the more condesending people will be. This goes for even positive reinforcements, but only if you actually gave a real opinion, so if you say something like "I like this drawing of yours" that's fine, but if it's something like "this drawing has some good shading and colours, I also like how you put these details XYZ into it, it adds a really nice touch to it" for some reason they would actually rather have you not say anything on the matter.

So after months of observation the conclusion goes like this:

Some people just hate complexity for the sake of it.

Why is that? Maybe they just want to have the "vibes", or maybe they just want to feel less intense? But either way, it is like some are having this mindset of "I do not care about what you actually think" to people who they think gives off negative vibes, so if you exist in a way that these type of people generally dislike, they are not going to appreciate you even if they don't try to say anything about it.

The thing about this type of people is that they would also tend to *hate* complexity, like it is a sin. And I'm saying this as I start to appreciate more and more about simplicity, because it's as if after a certain point of complexity, for some reason, as long as they don't understand it from the get go, it immediately sucks and they would treat as if the subject in question has no value whatsoever.

Of course you could argue there are things where simplicity is generally much more preferable, like in software where the user would generally want the software to "just work", and how they should "get out of your way". These are completely acceptable as they aren't supposed to be things that an average user of software is supposed to care about, it should just do its thing and nothing more.

But on things like an interests people also do the same thing, so much so to the point where it's as if the idea of having complexity in any way makes them rage. It could be that people just hate when they do not understand something so they try to dismiss them in general, but that just means they legit just hate anyone who protrays themselves as someone complex and dislikes them if they were proven that they can't just easily "read" the person's mind as if this was any of their business to begin with.

I would write more about simplicity and complexity, but in general the way I see it is that simplicity is usually preferable, but complexity definitely is not a sin in of itself, especially when you are supposed to care enough about how the things you care about can get better.

Some people just need to admit they don't understand some things at all and that's just okay, instead of using that as a reason to hate, is that too much to ask for?
