connection with a serious assault which left a woman in her 50s in
critical condition.
Gardaí were called to the scene of an assault at a home in Ballinasloe at
approximately 7pm on Monday evening.
A woman in her 50s had suffered serious injuries after being attacked.
The woman was brought to Portiuncula University Hospital where she
remained in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
A man in his 50s was arrested in connection with this incident at the
time.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Ballinasloe District
Court this morning.
