Fruit Buckle

    1/4 c  Shortening                        1/2 c  Sugar
      1    Egg                                 1 c  Flour
    1/2 ts Baking powder                     1/2 ts Salt
    1/4 c  Milk                                     Fruit of choice

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add 1 beaten egg, then sift flour, baking powder, and salt to mix. Add flour mixture, alternating with 1/4 cup milk to the egg mixture. Pour into greased 8 inch pan. Spread fruit on top and sprinkle with crumb topping.
