A modern classic! The success of the microkorg is a case study. From what I saw, when it was first released, many rock bands (especially indie rock), adopted it as a complementary instrument, so that it was the guitarists who played it when they were “free” or when they wanted to give a slightly more modern sound to a particular song. We all know that for many guitarists, the mere fact of introducing a synthetic timbre is already “modern”...
It's a six-voice synth with a lot of possibilities and a very cool design. There are some really good patches, but it is true that the lack of immediate controls on the main panel is a major handicap. The vocoder, without being a marvel, can be very useful for live performances! Of course, the mic it came with was horrible (I lost mine).
It's incredible that, after all these years, it's still listed at the same price.... It's been on sale for over twenty years now!
