Finally, here it is! My new Surly Steamroller enjoying the early winter.
Surly Steamroller in winter fields
It's the first bike I've ever built from the frame up. It's a bit of parts bin build at the moment and very much a work in progress. I've just transferred all parts from my trusted singlespeeder Trek Soho S with some new parts (headset, brakes and tyres). I'll get a new stem and cut the fork once I've figured out the perfect stem length for me.
I've ridden my Steamroller about 80km and so far it's been great. The tyres are Panaracer Gravelking SK 622-35. They are very nice and grippy enough with some snow and perfect on the gravel roads I usually ride on. I have Schwalbe Marathon Winters waiting for real winter.
Can't wait to get some real riding on this!
