Shortly after setting up for the night I was rummaging through my pack, looked up and found a full grown skunk 6 feet away from me. I must have spooked him, because he jumped back. We had a very tense 30-second long staring match, then (thankfully) he began backing away and decided to leave.

Also had the set-screw on my RA loosen. I didn't figure out what the problem was until I turned in for the night. Had to very carefully make every RA adjustment (including tracking) by hand; I don't ever want to have to do that again!
Great night, but so very humid and cold.
