I just introduced someone to the Konami Code (โ†‘ โ†‘ โ†“ โ†“ โ† โ†’ โ† โ†’ B A) and how us programmer nerds have ensured that our various employer's websites respect in some amusing way.

I used Discord's 404 page as an example, but which others still exist as working examples?

I worked on a team that managed one of the university's websites during school. My last week I snuck in an explorable GameBoy recreation of our office behind the Konami code on the home page. ยท 2 months ago

I don't know if Siri will still do this but if you ask it to sing you a song it was Bicycle Built for Two I assume because of 2001 and HAL. It's loaded with easter eggs, but it's gotten less tech nerd oriented over the years. I think you can still ask it how to get to Mordor. I wasn't a iThing person but work phones have been. ยท 2 months ago

You're talking about tech sectore shibboleth's. People say the LG washing machins play a riff from the The Lincolnshire Poacherwhen they finish a wash cycle. The ICOM, Yaesu, Kenwood hand held Ham radios all had different time out tunes after an hour and they changed over the years. Everyone seems to have lost this knowledge. It was the last test after an unboxing in the late 80's thru 90's everyone did to see what it would play. I always wanted to hear some thing from Anime like Cule Angel but I don't think it ever was. ยท 2 months ago
