Midnight Pub

curtain peeks, zine pastings, and drumming a second wind

~tffb

My apartment is black. Pitch black. I keep it that way 24/7. I look outside when I see the clock strike 8 PM. Just out the side of the blackout curtain. Confirming nightfall.

Once dark. Totally dark. I go outside on my balcony, and I smoke cigarettes there for a bit. Then inside. Out again later.

Sometimes critters in the distance, sometimes raccoons/beavers lunging their way through the underground storm drain deal just adjacent to my balcony. I, too, a creature of nocturnal pleasure.

The energy gets strong at night. I remember the "digital nomad" wanna-be days of WIP.co and other sites where worldwide travelers built (or tried) apps that would either sink or swim - they were really just traveling while hammering JS and PHP. In those times, the "works in progress" and landing sites would go live or be "tested" at night - everything came "online" just past dusk.

But I have this energy regardless.

Tonight, I put together Issue 2 of the (new) zine "selfish approvals". I am happy with the current entries, more coming, always improving ("improving"? they're just thoughts)

10 downloads of issue 1 (on itch). Like keeping up.

the detail about people testing sites at night is before my time, interesting little tidbit to know. nighttime is where you begin, undercover...
