The Digital Jewel of the Midwest

Much like the ENCOM Grid and the TRON Grid, Lovelace City is a digital environment crafted by an enigmatic system administrator, simply known as 'root' to its denizens. The city itself is named after famed mathematician and supposedly the first woman programmer, Ada Lovelace. The Programs of Lovelace City have been through quite a bit and have only grown stronger together. In modern days, the programs and 'root' have set up a hierarchy starting with *systemd, the Process Supervisor, and her team of Daemons - sharp-dressed feminine programs shaped as they sound designed to govern certain city administrations.

Notable Programs

- *systemd, the Process Supervisor. (They/them) All daemons report back to them. No one knows what they look like. Only that they keep detailed encrypted logs of every daemon's movement, resting period, and service period. Many say that the city would collapse if an issue were to happen to *systemd.

- *SHRDLU, an ancient News Daemon. (She/Her) Known for her bugs and yet her on time delivery and honesty of the news in Lovelace City. News Files are always delivered at 7 AM and, while files can get jumbled, are usually corrected before publication.
