Donald P. Goodman III
Version 1.0 (0E July 1202)
A man may fight great battles 'gainst his countless foes,
slay dragons left and right, with lance run monsters through;
track evils through the peaks and seas, through highs and lows,
destroy the lies of hatred and protect the true.
But when there is no beast to fight, what shall he do?
his soul's abroil like seas whose depths he bravely cross'd;
a ship with keel a-kilter, rock'd and all askew,
despite his strength and power helplessly is toss'd.
He never found the courage for one single fight;
against this enemy, he was forever lost:
against his passions, he could never weigh his might,
and so they grew, until they shadow'd all his light.
