I'm happy to report that, while the world burns down due to Crowdstrike nuking a fucking ton of Windows machines running everything from news channels to airlines, Station doesn't come within a kilometer of a Windows kernel, so we're all good over here. :)

@danrl Ah, haha sorry I didn't read that properly, and thanks! 🙏 · 1 month ago
@martin oh don’t worry. this was meant as a joke. station is the best free service there is, and the fact that it is well engineered but not over engineered is beautiful! · 1 month ago
@danrl Turns out you were right! · 1 month ago
@danrl There's an on-write data backup. The single instance approach is to keep costs as low as possible, and if it actually went down, it could be reprovisioned within minutes. I think that's a reasonable balance of trade-offs for what Station currently is. · 1 month ago
last time someone pitched crowdstrike to me i was saying “wait, thousands of drones listening to a puppet master, isn’t that like a botnet? this *is* the malware!”
i was told i don’t get it. · 1 month ago
