we do not open the door to classroom thirty-six
those stories of school hauntings begin and end in nightmare
but within the bones of that soulless contagion
inaccurately labelled  �� classes, groups 3, 6, storage  ��
remains everything unspoken, venting, sporulating
ancient scanning electron microscope on its dolly
keeping sweet company to seven thousand plagues
brewing cheerfully away, reducing sealed freezer atmosphere
plugged into nothing, ambient temperature where props
long misplaced by theater lads, grain lichen and fratricide
formaldehyde aquariums speaking perfectly common tongues
polyglot hundreds chanting to the burn hood
textbooks on nerve agents keeping company to cookbooks
one Bakelite red phone flexing its ringer just below contact voltage
every six and a half minutes, emergency, there is an emergency
fractal displacement entangled to intelligence

we do not open the door to classroom thirty-six
that ��s Bob ��s job, and we ��ve no idea where they ��ve got to
but there are donuts in the break room next door at thirty-seven
