this wasn ��t a win I wanted, I guess, even though the folks
they say, hey kid, get out there, bring home the ribbon
joyous day, I ��ve got the appearances that get me up against the wall
shaken down for cash, if it ��s a good rendition, don ��t you know
invited to a bath while my hair ��s still wet, offered wolf-teat
told friends, citizens, freed-men, but not you  �� never you
if you ��d be so kind as to simply fade away, put in your hours
satisfy our soldiers some and be done, we ��ll raze you later
we know  �� oh how well we know  �� where the disease came from
so here I am first place, prize I didn ��t claim, can ��t decry
sweet ribbon for my neck and four cattle to draw my children home
student of misfortune, self-sovereignty ��s not for keeping
