Disparity

game day has humans, escalated, ramped up
in variations on happy murder and sad
but always with the edge of death oncoming
though if you asked, politely, maybe
they ��d let you pass, surprised at the question
primal at the watering hole ��s edge
permit you to escape the city ��s sapient edges
that awakened thing so burning
each spire might of economic mistaking, sun
chat in two thirds of a million voices
team names, player fames, to win and to lose

today, it ��s killing fans at the edges, chanting
how all cops are aspirations, burning civilians
somehow laughably accidental in the mix is  ��
fine, provided one dances on the squad cars

if you carry yourself right, utter no names
flight is a fanciful degradation of the soil

here at the teaming, teamless edges of human
