in the time of dot matrix
people paid money
that they might tractor feed
yard after yard of connected pages
trivialities in large letters
composed of smaller versions
of themselves as celebration
to be thrown away

laughing all the while
at other nations
burning beauties and desires
small and loved
brushed in ink
as trade
