Coffee Assistance

today was going to be all the coffee
but I have been duly informed
by surprise shoulder cat
that instead today is going to be
all the surprise shoulder cat

and that dodging suddenly
will only mean surprise coffee cat
shortly followed by somewhat less surprise
shoulder coffee cat, dainty and sweet
stabbing me mercilessly
washing their feet
