Chess Analysis

chess was assembled thus, permutations of the predictable, and thus
mechanisms made it so, all combinations known - still
my game is neither mastery nor knowing, forming on the edges
like ice back in beyond the salt marsh brine
each layer crystalline, fractal progression - and some day
a machine will know it all, contain in one conscious moment all conditions
defining chess modality as a system, all solutions accounted

on that day, I weep no remorse, perhaps assist machine towards its destination
programming database structure, providing choice, probability, voice
rendering no less beautiful the system, only couching onward
my words like polished garnet, some rapid constellation demoted right

on that day, I shall consider how the game is played
time permitting, attain my mastery, all choices made
and still enjoy the game
