Cranberry Water 
April 20, 1995 

they took away my people my love
they claim they are my people my lord
they poisoned my water for long
lord, they think they know what's become

my people scream like children in the night
lord, my people scream like children in the blistering light
lay down a little water for these people my lord
they, like they, they become

jamie had a baby I hear
lost her to the fires I hear
poison in the water it's been leaking into vines
poison to her daugher killing's all the time
baby still no struggles I fear

they -- they burried my daughter my lord
jamie -- and her daughter's not quite begun
damn you lord, of your survivors I'm one
s'the problem of evil, of getting things won
I'm just hangin round here waiting for nothing
the weight's on my people lord, and pressing
lord, of my daughter, she's done

jamie had a daughter I hear
was the fire or the water I hear
poison in my daughter lord got to her through the vines
tendrils and soft laughter sliding somewhere I can't find
lord -- these are your people I hear
they, they think they knew what to fear
and jamie lord, a daughter I've none
