I can't help it. I was born on a Thursday, in the month with the most famous of "ides". In the afternoon. A touch of urteral empathy, perhaps? <nods left to hindsight>
I'm sure I'll tired of the pseudo days 'o the week theme. Ennui lives and rains. I mean reigns.
I was awake early today for being a couple days into a mini chemical break of sorts. I'm somehow rising earlier with age sans chemical assistance.
But it's fine. It's really about the only way I'd have time for this. And then a couple months ago we got ourselves entangled in a music fest coming up this weekend. I'll be both running sound at one of the stages, and performing on and off. It'll be fun overall, although I'm pre-dreading the "hell is other people" effects.
(But maybe it's my repeatedly pre-dreading such that makes it manifest? Hmmmm.... The good 'ole making an ass of u and me thing biting itself in the larger cheeks mass? Hmmm^2....)
I'm chomping on some leftover pizza rescued from the freezer. And it was gratis to begin with, so it's feeling doubly free. I how pizza saved seems pizza earned.
Part of plus side of the event is a high school friend will be visiting to help with sound and do some performing of his own. We'll likely collaborate on a few. Likely little most of you would know due to my buddy and I being 800 million years old relatively speaking. There was this band from Liverpool, you see....
Do any of you even know the reference in this title of this missive? I could flip a coin on that, what with it being 2024 and all.
Oh, well, life goes on. For *you*, anyway. I've a solid eight toes in the loam, and it's not getting any less joint inflammatory.
Heh... chuckling to myself over how some joints have staged a coup of "gimme attention" over the one joint that once only ever mattered....
Do any of you even know the reference in this title of this missive?
Of course I do, but then again I’m 41. One of the few acts I’ve really wanted to see live but haven’t been able to.
Either The Beatles, The Rolling Stones or Black Sabbath, all three from Liverpool? I know for sure Black Sabbath is.
On music, my CCrane headphones arrive today, having destroyed the TIN T2 headphones with water months ago. "Don't know what ya got, til it's gone". I miss IEM (in-ear monitors). I will mod them with memory foam earplugs in lieu of the rubber ear pieces. It will create a form-fit vacuum type seal, much like the TIN T2's had (likely lesser of a driver in sound quality, but the CCranes have a built in mic and antenna, which I like).
Prepping for the tunes, too. Downloaded No Doubt, Sublime, Paramore, the new Lana Del Rey, as well as transferred music from the MAIN folder, The Distillers, and a bunch of other punk bands. Surely Morbid, Mayhem, and Dragged Into Sunlight will get thrown in.
I know these are a few of your go-to familiar favorites, Inquiry, it's why I mention them, lmao!
Honestly, check Lana Del Rey, as Ultra Violence is amazing
