The 'Hardcore' moniker had been dropped because some kid's mom was trashing the magazine before he ever got it, thinking it was porn because of the 'Hardcore' in the title). Also, check out the publisher of 'Bridge' on page 24... Couldn't be... could it? Issue 33 Looking for Page 1/2? Apparently the leaf containing pages 1 and 2 (and 31 and 32) didn't get stapled into this issue. These are normally the pages containing the advertisements and are curiously absent from this one. Whether it's just mine or all of them went out with that leaf missing, I'll probably never know. Maybe the advertisers didn't pay for their ads by the deadline. Who knows? Feature Softkeys: Word Juggler Sundog v2.0 Summer Games II Thief Instant Pascal Epyx Software Tink! Tonk! Chipwits Features: The Mapping of Ultima IV How to be the Sound Master Other Softkeys: Graphic Adventure #1 (Adventure International) Sensible Grammar & Extended Bookends (Sensible Software) Chipwits (Brainpower) Hardball (Accolade) King's Quest II (Sierra On-Line) The World's Greatest Baseball Game (Epyx) Issue 34 August 1986 Ok, I stopped cleaning up the 'bleed-through' with this issue. It didn't reduce the file-size noticeably and actually degraded readability, especially of text printed in lighter typeface (such as assembly listings, BASIC listings, and hexdumps). Best $65.00 I ever spent. I managed to rescue mine before my parents managed to trash my beloved Apple (and most of my extensive software collection in the process). Unfortunately, one of the pins snapped off the breadboard at some point, so until I can repair it, it's useless. But even in it's unusable state, it's still more productive than anything that came out of Redmond... but enough preaching... The lack of a stiff cover makes it much more difficult to line up the magazine on the scanner bed. Get used to it. The naming of the JPGs has also changed to reflect the change in the page numbering of the issues. The front cover is now counted as page one, and the back cover is now page thirty-two. Page 27 contains an announcement/apology for the lateness of delivery for this issue. Apparently, Computist had finally gone "all-volunteer" with the publishing of this one.
