Ode to Pomegranate

~violetsoup

Pomegranate...I love you!!!!!!!!!!

You are so difficult to open up but I love you just the same. I know how to do it and I know how to make you spill as little blood as possible. When I score four lines down your body and rip you apart like a starving wolf. Hell yeah brother.

I see your fruit. Ruby red and shining like gems, glistening in the harsh yellow light of my dad's kitchen. You stain my hands as I pry you out, my nails cut short so I don't slice up your viscera.......wowzers!

You fall into the little white bowl I have in front of me. Wahoooooo yeah!!!!!!!!!! Yipeeee!!!!!!!!! And now we have fun. And you taste like sour and sweet and fresh and clean. A wonderful fruit both inside and out. Full of nutrients for my malnourished brain and tired body. Feel the juice run down your throat. Do a little dance. Pomegranate is in season from autumn to winter, so it is nearly coming to an end, so make sure you get your share of this absolutely top notch fruit!!

Pomegranate you are the best. Pomegranate I dream about you sometimes. Pomegranate SO POGGERRRRRRRR

I have never eaten a pomegranate. My only anecdote here being that when I was in Italy a while ago, I went to the hotel breakfast place and naturally dispensed myself some of the only juice that said a word I didn't know. Of course, it ended up being pomegranate juice and was very tasty indeed!

When I was a kid, I was caught sneaking fruit from my neighbor's prized pomegranate tree with my friends and got in trouble with the adults.

Since then, I've never been a big fan of pomegranates. hehe.
