For a young kid, it's the best way to play. Honestly, I mean that. Even if you don't have the motor skills yet to do detailed combos with a controller, you can still have fun smacking your opponent from side-to-side, because shaking the Wiimote while charging a Smash attack causes your character to instantly release the attack at Full Power. If you're trying to be competitive, then I understand the struggle with this playstyle, but if you're just a 7-year-old trying to chase away self-hatred with Kamehamehas until you have to attempt to go to bed, I think that it's fine. Besides, my Wii growing up didn't even have Gamecube ports, so it's not like I could have did that even if I wanted to.
