Finished the prototype for my handheld DIY computer (really a Raspberry Pi Zero dock). It boots! The soldering is terrible and the joints will probably break if I bump it too hard but it boots! Will do a write up when I have time.

hot-melt glue can make your solder joints more resilient. if you use the craft stuff (thin flexible sticks for a mini heat-gun), then they can also be removed easily. 路 2 years ago

I wanted to do something like the EOMA68 project has been doing, but for the Pi Zero. For one thing, it's smaller and absurdly cheap. For another thing, I didn't have to use any custom components except for the case, so it's already done. Although I will probably do a custom PCB for version 2. 路 2 years ago
