I've never seen the point in having ThinkLight in ThinkPads or having keyboard backlight in MacBook Pros until I got this old HP ProBook, which has none of that and… It's barely usable in the dark — and I was never particularly bad at touch typing, it's just that doesn't feel right not being able to see the keyboard at all.

True, but it's especially painful when typing in a secure password. I'm pretty good with letters and punctuation, but the rest is hunt and peck. Now I need to find a mechanical click keyboard that has lighting that isn't garish RGB. · 1 month ago
