I used to think that music should be owned, but I've changed my mind about music streaming services.
First of all, there's so much music that I own that I don't listen to, and just because I can listen to something at any time doesn't mean I'm going to listen to it all the time. I think it's better to just let go of what I don't listen to. It's not fun to see music taking up storage that I don't even listen to.
The joy of discovering new good music on the radio is great, and it seems to me that it's enough that I can pull that newfound music out of a streaming service and listen to it when I want to.
In essence, I'm not sure it's right for music to be privately owned. Shouldn't the owners of some music be the people who made it and the people who perform it? We're just the audience, we listen, we clap if we like it, we support the artists, and we take comfort from it. :)
~bartender, can I have a Diet Coke here?
